New Zealand’s only leadership programme designed specifically for emergency management intelligence leaders. A focus on the practical actions of leading the intelligence function to support the wider incident management system.

Content covered:

  • Objectives are delivered within the PAPC framework - priorities, authorities, intelligence plans, and communication.

  • A primary focus on response but includes measures to develop readiness and considerations for the transition to recovery.

  • How to manage your people and work with other functions.

  • Transformational, functional, and domain leadership frameworks are taught through their application to the unique aspects of intelligence practice.

  • Content is delivered with a focus on workplace application through practical tools.

  • Those that will fulfill the Intelligence Manager role during a response.

  • Senior intelligence analysts that are likely to need to step up to the Manager role.

  • Other Emergency Management staff that need to expand their knowledge of the intelligence function, how to use it and how to work with it.

Course structure options:

  • 2 days.

  • Can also be delivered in one hour blocks over 6 weeks with small self-paced activities as a remote option.

  • Both options include a one-on-one follow up coaching session 4-6 weeks after completion of the course.

Participants also receive The Practical Guide to Intelligence Leadership, a handbook with all teaching points and guides covered throughout the course.
